A full-day program combining academic education with futsal and soccer training.

In collaboration with the Toronto District School Board, with additional options available through the Region of Peel District School Board, student-athletes take part in a structured full-day program. Players attend school for half the day and train with FC Toronto for the other half.

The academic component follows the Ontario Curriculum and is delivered in a focused half-day format. This structure allows student-athletes to balance their academic responsibilities while maintaining a high level of training and development.

The program is built on a seamless approach that supports academic growth, athletic development, character building, and social responsibility — preparing players for success both in sport and beyond.

training structure

Led by Coaches Hugo Rodrigues and Brandon Simoes, athletes train in a high-performance environment combining soccer, futsal, and complementary training methods.

Players train for 2.5 hours per day, five times per week, taking part in structured sessions that include technical drills, game play, and supporting activities such as strength and conditioning, swimming, and yoga.

This 12.5 hour weekly training schedule is nearly three times the volume offered by most traditional programs, which typically provide 4.5 hours per week.

The extended format allows for more focused, intense, and detailed training sessions that cannot be replicated in shorter evening environments. Players benefit from smaller training groups, creating a more personal setting with increased attention from certified coaches.

To support overall development, players in the High Performance Program are periodically excused from evening team sessions, helping manage both physical workload and academic responsibilities.
